Jackson State University

Jackson State University or JSU can be found in the Jackson city of Mississippi. JSU continues to be a black university in earlier times. It had been established in 1877. The university is designed for adding research and experiential learning into teaching and service learning programs.

The intention behind it was to educate the newly freed and underprivileged blacks. In 1883 it was renamed as Jackson College. The college moved to its new and present campus after 1902.Later Mississippi took management of the university with the intention to educate its teachers. JSU was awarded the university reputation in 1974.
